Native to southern Africa, the pelargonium, also known as florist's geranium, belongs to the Geraniaceae family. Imported to Europe at the end of the 17th century, it quickly gained popularity thanks to its pretty, fragrant flowers, which come in shades of pink, white, or red.

The flowers and leaves are distilled to produce geranium hydrosol, which is essential for soothing oily and acne-prone skin, while also restoring radiance thanks to its astringent and purifying properties. Its subtle, floral aroma is also pleasant in appetizers or desserts.

Bourbon geranium hydrosol is an essential in any beauty kit. Its benefits for the skin are well-known; it's perfect for creating toners, soothing masks, cleansers and makeup removers, as well as lotions or aftershaves. Hydrosols are susceptible to contamination. Store them in a cool place, away from light and heat. If you observe a dust-like deposit, filter the hydrosol using a paper filter.
